Great news!!! 😊 I am excited to be offering my first online course titled “Creating a Culture of Writers”.
👉 This course is perfect for the classroom teacher or homeschooling parent who wants to learn more about teaching writing in a purposeful, meaningful way that supports learner(s) at all levels of literacy development. Writing is one of the hardest skills to teach, but you’ll learn and implement new instructional strategies to support your learners in becoming amazing writers AND loving writing!! 🙌
CONTENT: You will learn the craft and science about writing instruction, get your first 20 lessons, and have opportunities to engage in collegial conversations throughout this course. Each of these is an important step in developing your own craft!!
🎉 BONUS!!! 🎉 This course will be available for professional development and one graduate credit from “The University of Alaska” for an additional fee.
👀 This online course will be available for registration on February 1, 2020. Participants interested in the credit option will begin this course on March 1, 2020.
👀 I will run this course for credit twice a year: March and October.
👀 If you plan to take this course for credit in March, please contact me for additional information before February 15. If you would like to take this course for credit in October, please contact me for additional information before September 15.
I am looking forward to offering this opportunity to support educators in developing literacy instructional skills and strategies to support student learning and achievement. The course credit option and collegial discourse are bonuses for educators to fine-tune their skills.
🤗 Finally, I will be posting additional courses this year to support educators’ needs. Check back for more details on this page and my blog.
Have a wonderful and blessed New Year!!!

I’d loved teaching writer’s workshop when I was teaching. This sounds like a great course! Congrats!
Congrats Annette! What a great idea especially for parents who are home schooling their kids. Writing is one of the struggles I had growing up (and still is). This course would be perfect!
Awesome! I’ll share this with my friends who homeschool!
Thanks for sharing!!!
Sounds like a great course. Learning how to write is such an important skill for kids to learn.
Writing is certainly a communication skill everyone needs and is also one of the most challenging to teach. As I mentor teachers (inservice and preservice), this seems to always be a requested focus area.
Sounds like a good course.
This is a great concept. I homeschooled my own children for many years. I’m now on a traditional public school board in a very small rural district. We created a virtual school with nearly 4000 students throughout Indiana, and it’s helped us continue to offer more services to our in-building students.
Love this!!! I love how technology can be a venue for so many learning opportunities!
